Pristina given deadline to respond to Serbian government’s offer of energy help

Chairperson of the Belgrade-Pristina working group on energy Jolly Dickson said today that the Pristina delegation has been given a deadline of five days to respond to the offer made by the Serbian government to provide electricity to Serb majority areas in Kosovo-Metohija.
Following a meeting of the working group, Dickson said that the Belgrade delegation has committed to giving technical details of the offer to provide 50 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to Serb enclaves in Kosovo-Metohija within the next 24 hours.
According to Dickson, representatives of Pristina in the working group were not able to specify how much time they need, but have given assurance that they will reply to the offer as soon as possible.
Considering the fact that the situation requires urgent action, Dickson recommended that the deadline should not be longer than five days, and confirmed that the working group will make efforts to implement the Serbian government’s proposal, if mechanisms for doing so exist.
