Negotiating team for Kosovo-Metohija invites citizens to support Constitution in referendum

At the initiative of Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, the Serbian state negotiating team for the future status of Kosovo-Metohija held a meeting late this afternoon and invited all Serbian citizens to turn out in the referendum and to vote for the new Constitution of Serbia.
It is of vital importance that the new Constitution gets sovereign people’s vote so as to obey to principles of international law that must be valid in the case of Kosovo-Metohija as well, according to a press release issued after the meeting.
Serbia’s policy in the Kosovo-Metohija talks is principled, grounded and fully based on principles of international law, and the new Serbian Constitution gives them full legitimacy to maintain this policy, the statement adds.
Taking into account state and national interests, the state negotiating team invites all Serbian citizens to support the Constitution at the referendum.
