Among the representatives of the 137 participating countries are delegates from Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Israel, as well as from key countries on the African continent – South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt and Ethiopia.
Representatives of numerous countries from Europe, Asia and the world are also coming to Belgrade, and the capital of Serbia will also be visited by representatives of the United Nations and other major international organisations and development agencies.
Over the course of three days, ministers, state secretaries, ambassadors and directors of national institutions responsible for the economy, trade, innovation, tourism, culture and sports will gather in one place in Belgrade.
Their task will be to define, together with the organisers, the next steps and plans for the participation of their countries in Expo 2027, an event that will transform Belgrade into a global platform for the meeting of ideas, cultures and innovations.
The great interest in Expo 2027 in Belgrade is also confirmed by the fact that Serbia is the absolute record holder in terms of the number of countries registered for specialised exhibitions. So far, 137 countries have applied for Expo 2027, significantly exceeding the previous record of Astana 2017, which brought together 117 participating countries.
During their stay, foreign delegations will be presented with further plans for the development of the Expo complex, the programme concept of the exhibition, as well as key logistical and organisational steps that will determine the next phase of preparations.
Specialised Expo 2027, whose theme is “Play for Humanity – Sport and Music for All”, will be held from 15 May to 15 August 2027 in Belgrade.
