The Ministry's crime police arrested Zvonimir Jankovic, bankruptcy trustee of BIM Slavija company and court appointed experts Zoran Boskovic, Radomir Bubanja and Marija Ortinski for suspected abuse of office.
The statement adds that from November 2004 to November 2005, Jankovic and his partakers in the crime performed actions that discouraged prospective buyers of insolvent company BIM Slavija, thus causing a decrease in the company's price, which fell from the estimated €5.159 million to €2.9 million.
Belgrade-based company Tobako, whose director was Miko Brasnjovic, was thus enabled to make a profit of €2.259 million at the expense of creditors.
All suspects will remain in custody for 48 hours after which period they will be taken before the investigating judge, concludes the statement.
