At the opening of the Economic Forum of Serbian and Republika Srpska businesspeople in Banja Luka today, Kostunica stressed that for the time being there is a lot of space for cooperation in construction and energy sectors and recalled the construction of the bridge on the River Sava near Raca.
Republika Srpska Prime Minister Milorad Dodik said that the Republika Srpska government prepared a good business climate in this entity and stressed that foreign investors have equal rights as local investors.
Dodik expressed expectation that after the sale of Telekom, Republika Srpska’s budget will receive nearly €400 million, which is to be invested in infrastructure and employment. He also said that the experience of Serbian authorities will be needed.
Serbian President Boris Tadic stressed that he will do everything so that the Serbian economic policy is open for foreign investments, one part of which will also go to Republika Srpska.
Republika Srpska President Dragan Cavic said that cooperation of Serbian and Republika Srpska businesspeople is the best recommendation for citizens of both countries that will arouse optimism with them.
Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo said that he was convinced in the practical success of the Agreement on special parallel relations of the two countries as soon as he saw how many businessmen from Serbia went on the trip to Banja Luka.
Republika Srpska Minister of Economy Milan Jelic said that most importantly, over 20 business contracts has been signed, which concretized the Agreement on special parallel relations.
Republika Srpska Minister of Economic Relations and Coordination Jasna Brkic said that Serbian and Republika Srpska companies inked 24 business agreements today in Banja Luka.
She noted that direct foreign investment, participation in privatisation of state companies, getting concessions in the energy sector, infrastructure and agricultural land are investment opportunities in Republika Srpska.
Vrsac-based pharmaceutical company Hemofarm is one of Serbian companies whose representatives signed an agreement today in the Tanjug international press centre in Banja Luka with the Republika Srpska Privatisation Directorate.
Director of the Republika Srpska Privatisation Directorate Vladimir Mackic expressed satisfaction because one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the region is ready to invest in the Republika Srpska market.
President of Hemofarm Miodrag Babic recalled that this company is already present on the market of Republika Srpska, but noted that the signing of this agreement will mark the second phase in realisation of new investment, boosting employment and expanding the business network.
Also today in Trno, near Banja Luka, Prime Ministers of Serbia and Republika Srpska Vojislav Kostunica and Milorad Dodik handed over the keys of first seven tractors bought in Republika Srpska, which marked the launch of the memorandum on delivery of 400 agricultural machines and tractors produced by Serbian IMT to buyers in Republika Srpska.
