Mali said that the United States was among the first countries to apply for Expo, where it will have a large pavilion, assessing that its participation, as one of the great powers, is exceptionally important.
Their teams are already on the ground, preparing plans for pavilions and programmes, he said, noting that it is important for Serbia and Belgrade to be the best possible hosts.
He added that Expo represents the greatest development opportunity for Serbia, that 131 countries have already confirmed their participation, and that this will be the largest Specialised Expo to date.
It is particularly important that a number of US companies have expressed interest in becoming sponsors of the exhibition, Mali said, recalling that a major sponsorship agreement was signed last week with Cisco, one of the largest US companies.
He underlined that he considers the organisation of Expo to be a very complex logistical challenge, noting that the development of security standards and the coordination of state and volunteer resources are areas that will be worked on intensively.
Mali also noted that more than 3,000 participants are attending the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, including over 400 high-level political officials, 850 top people of global companies and 65 presidents and prime ministers, adding that President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić will also take part in one of the sessions.
