At the opening of the gathering, which represents one of the important forms of cooperation in the fields of culture, education and international exchange between the two countries, Đurić stressed that Serbia and China are linked by more than seven decades of continuous friendship and cooperation, which has developed and grown stronger on the foundations of mutual respect and understanding.
According to him, the friendship, which we rightly describe today as iron-clad, represents one of the most important pillars of Serbia’s foreign policy action.
The Minister underlined that Serbia is proud to be the first comprehensive strategic partner of the People’s Republic of China in Central and Eastern Europe and the first European country to build a community with a shared future in the new era with China, which represents the highest level of cooperation that any European country has with the People’s Republic of China.
The head of Serbian diplomacy placed particular emphasis on the importance of cultural exchange, noting that it has always been at the very heart of Serbian–Chinese friendship.
Speaking about the international camp, Đurić said that it connects younger generations and contributes to strengthening mutual understanding, deepening cultural cooperation and bringing in new energy and knowledge.
At the opening of the camp, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Serbia Li Ming and Director of the Chinese Cultural Centre Zhang Aimin also addressed the audience, pointing to the importance of this programme as a kind of bridge of cooperation between the two countries.
