President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić together with Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Milan Mojsilović, laid the cornerstone today for the construction of a new building of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces at the Banjica barracks in Belgrade.

Vučić said that the building will be completed by the end of 2028, that it will cover 50,000 square metres and that the contractor is the Military Construction Centre.
They will be beautiful complexes, built in an appropriate environment with a high level of security. We have allocated significant funds for this project because we consider it significant in many ways, especially in conditions of absolute uncertainty, the impossibility of predicting what lies ahead, the President of Serbia pointed out.
He stated that we have to raise the staffing levels of many units in a very short period of time, and confirmed that the number of members of the three main special units will be increased, as well as that their staffing levels will have to be higher than 95%.
