Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dušan Kozarev met today with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia Tan Bunpa, who informed him about the clashes on the Cambodian-Thai border and the diplomatic engagement of major powers and regional organisations in calming the situation.

Kozarev emphasised that Serbia is firmly committed to the peaceful resolution of disputes, respect for international law and the Charter of the United Nations, especially in the field of the inviolability of the borders of member states.
He highlighted the importance of the urgent cessation of all violent actions and the start of the negotiation process, and offered the Ambassador humanitarian assistance for the needs of the endangered civilian population.
The Secretary General expressed his gratitude to Cambodia for its support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, underlining that this is a principle that our country also consistently adheres to.
Highlighting the friendly relations between Serbia and Cambodia, the interlocutors expressed regret that topics of mutual importance, such as strengthening cooperation in the fields of the economy and education, as well as plans to represent Cambodia at the international exhibition Expo 2027 in Belgrade, remained overshadowed by current events.
