Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, attended today a presentation and coordination meeting as part of preparations of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade at the Expo 2027 Playground, in Hall 5 of the Belgrade Fair.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Expo 2027 is not a project of one city, but of the whole of Serbia, and added that Belgrade will be a meeting place, and the importance of this event will be felt throughout Serbia, in towns and cities, rural areas and regional centres.
Macut emphasised that it will be an opportunity to show that every region in Serbia has something valuable, special and unique, whether it is nature, culture, tradition, gastronomy, sports, knowledge, innovations or the warmth of the people who live there.
According to him, this is a joint national undertaking in which everyone participates and everyone benefits, and local governments have a key role.
Specialised Expo 2027 will also leave a material legacy: new sports and fitness halls, schools and kindergartens, improved infrastructure and public spaces, but also a stronger international positioning of Serbia as a unique destination, Prime Minister Macut stressed.
The goal of the presentation was to include local government units in national and regional activities on the occasion of Specialised Expo 2027, as well as to present the potential of cities and municipalities.
