Government to continue work on establishing even stronger social dialogue

Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski announced today that the Socio-Economic Council will establish an operational body that will more effectively address business and labour market challenges, as well as identify opportunities to resolve potential problems.

Following the 126th regular session of the Socio-Economic Council, which was also attended by Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, Đurđević Stamenkovski noted that the body’s members will include representatives of government ministries, as well as representatives of the two representative trade unions and the Serbian Association of Employers.

She stated that members of the team will meet more frequently and regularly, while, depending on the topic of the meeting, ministers from other relevant departments will also participate in the work of the body.

Đurđević Stamenkovski stated that the Government of Serbia will continue to work consistently on establishing an even stronger social dialogue, as well as on improving the position of workers and protecting domestic businesses.

The session was also attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamočić and representatives of employers and trade unions.
