Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić emphasised today, during talks with his Georgian counterpart Maka Bochorishvili, that relations between the two countries are based on friendship, mutual understanding and support in the international political arena.

During the meeting with Bochorishvili, who is in Belgrade as part of the delegation led by President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili, Đurić expressed sincere commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation in all areas, adding that this commitment is also evidenced by the fact that the process of opening the Embassy of Serbia in Georgia is under way.
He expressed special gratitude to Georgia for its strong support for Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasising that Serbia unequivocally supports Georgia on this issue.
The interlocutors discussed opportunities for enhancing economic cooperation, as well as cooperation in the areas of new technologies, innovation and tourism.
In this regard, Đurić pointed out that great expectations are placed on the intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, whose session will be held in Belgrade later in December.
