Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Snežana Paunović spoke today with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Serbia Kristin Melsom and Special Advisor at the Norwegian Ministry of Defence Kjersti Klæboe about the implementation of the Norwegian civil servant training programme in Serbia.

Cooperation with Norway on professional development of civil servants

During the meeting, a specialised educational and development training programme of the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Norway was presented, intended primarily for managerial personnel.
The programme is aimed at developing leadership and management skills, as well as strengthening the professional and ethical competencies of civil servants and employees in the defence system.
Paunović said that Serbia is ready to consider this type of cooperation, emphasising that, if appropriate conditions are created, relevant state authorities could be included in the programme.
Representatives of the Norwegian side underlined that they see Serbia as a key and central country in the Western Balkans, whose participation in the programme is of particular importance for further improving regional cooperation and strengthening institutional capacities.
