Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today in Abu Dhabi with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The foreign ministers signed a memorandum of understanding for political consultations, the implementation of which will significantly contribute to the intensification and institutionalisation of the dialogue between our foreign ministries.
Emphasising that our countries have reached the highest level of bilateral relations embodied in a strategic partnership, Đurić added that the personal relationship and friendship between our presidents Aleksandar Vučić and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan represent the foundation of our excellent relations and pave the way for further cooperation between our countries.
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which entered into force a few months ago, will, according to the head of Serbian diplomacy, give a new impetus to strengthening economic and business ties, and will contribute to the continued growth of foreign trade, attracting investments and initiating new projects.
Referring to our participation in Expo 2020 in Dubai, which proved to be beneficial in many ways, Đurić pointed out that the arrival of the UAE at Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade is very good news for Serbia, and that we hope to exchange experiences and good practices with our Emirati friends in organising such large events.
The Serbian Foreign Minister invited Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to visit Belgrade in the coming period, adding that this visit would not only confirm the closeness of our peoples, but also provide an additional opportunity for talks on expanding our partnership in areas of common interest.
