Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić met today with new Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Ambassador Marcel Peško to discuss further improvements to the rule of law, strengthening the independence of the judiciary and the continuation of reform processes.

Continuation of OSCE’s expert assistance to judiciary institutions in Serbia

The interlocutors reviewed the results of joint activities to date, as well as possibilities for the OSCE’s additional support in the areas of strategic importance, including training programmes for judiciary bodies and holders of judiciary office.
Vujić underlined that cooperation with the OSCE Mission is of exceptional importance for the continued harmonisation of the domestic legal system with international standards, as well as for the realisation of reform goals envisaged by strategic documents.
Peško confirmed the OSCE’s readiness to continue providing expert and technical support to Serbia’s judiciary institutions.
The interlocutors agreed that joint work and regular communication will contribute to the further improvement of democratic institutions and better protection of citizens’ rights.
