Space for advancing cooperation with Russia in field of education

Minister of Education Professor Dejan Vuk Stanković, PhD, today discussed with a delegation from the Russian Federation, led by Special Representative of the President of that country for international cultural cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, options for advancing and intensifying cooperation in the field of education.

Stanković emphasised the importance of cooperation with the Russian Federation in this area, especially in higher education, stating that the meeting discussed signing a memorandum of cooperation.

The Minister pointed out that the goal is to enable cooperation between Serbian universities and faculties with higher education institutions in the Russian Federation, as well as to create joint study programmes that would contribute to a better quality of study and scientific research, as well as greater mobility of students and teaching staff.

He noted that there is particular interest in the field of medicine and technical sciences, as well as other areas.

Shvydkoy said that preparations are under way to sign a memorandum that will contribute to enhancing cooperation in the field of education, for which there is mutual interest, with the assessment that the upcoming meeting of the two ministers will also contribute to this.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko.
