Arbitrary conjectures harm Serbia's negotiating position

Director of the Serbian government's Office of Media Relations Srdjan Djuric said today that the media publish various allegedly already decided scenarios for the future of Kosovo-Metohija. He warned that such arbitrary conjectures bring no good to Serbia and its negotiating position.
It more looks like fortune-telling. We claim with full responsibility that not in a single relevant body that deals with Kosovo-Metohija and which has a mandate of the United Nations for that issue are there indications of any established decision or scenario for Kosovo's final status, Djuric said.
He said that he is sure that some people would like that a certain scenario takes place, but that the road from someone's wish to reality is often an insurmountable one.
According to Djuric, the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 is the "alpha and omega" for the question of Kosovo-Metohija and it categorically guarantees Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity in Kosovo.
For Serbia, every future resolution on Kosovo must also explicitly include the position from Resolution 1244 on Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and guarantee substantial autonomy for the province, the Director of the Office of Media Relations concluded.
