Minister without portfolio in charge of gender equality, prevention of violence against women and economic and political empowerment of women Tatjana Macura met today with World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Serbia and Regional Director for the Western Balkans Fabio Scano to discuss strengthening cooperation in the areas of domestic violence prevention and the improvement of reproductive health.

The meeting highlighted the importance of developing a unified protocol for handling cases of domestic violence within the health system, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
The interlocutors also discussed the forthcoming National Fertility Campaign, which the Minister’s Office will launch next year.
The Minister emphasised that strong cooperation with the WHO is essential to improving protection for victims of violence, as well as to shaping policies that contribute to better reproductive health.
According to her, effective support must be ensured for all those facing violence or infertility, with the state and society standing alongside them, ready to provide safety, understanding and assistance.
