The agreement defines participation in joint planning and implementation of initiatives and programmes that promote science, innovation, technological development and digital transformation.
It is also envisaged that joint events, public appearances, campaigns, conferences, forums and other activities will be organised to improve the innovation and scientific research ecosystem, with the support of science and technology parks and regional innovation centres.
In addition to the exchange of information and good practices, the two parties agreed on the joint promotion and organisation of events, workshops and programmes implemented by institutions under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation within the ExpoTech pavilion.
The parties also envisaged the joint formation of a network of researchers and innovators to better coordinate activities, exchange knowledge and network within the national innovation ecosystem.
To implement the planned activities, the two parties will form a working group consisting of representatives of the Ministry and Expo 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade, which will be tasked with coordinating activities and timelines and monitoring progress in implementation.
Balint emphasised that this specialised exposition represents a major opportunity for Serbia, and the two sides discussed ways to involve all partners to fully utilise the potential of this significant international event.
Jerinić stated that a large part of the Expo 2027 programme will be dedicated to new technologies, innovation and science, noting that the event will serve to showcase the potential of Serbia in these areas to the entire world.
