After touring the national pavilion, one of 63 at the expo, Macut expressed hope that Serbia’s economic, as well as overall, presence will be even more pronounced and that the friendly relations and iron-clad friendship between Serbia and China will contribute to further improving this kind of cooperation.
He stated that today, at the ceremonial opening of the expo, Serbia had the opportunity to present itself to leaders of several countries, to prime ministers and parliament speakers of states participating in the event in Shanghai.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović stated that Serbia has strong potential to export its products to the Chinese market.
The Serbian government is proud of the fact that Serbian products are already present in several retail chains across multiple provinces, she emphasised, announcing that, together with Prime Minister Macut, she will hold meetings in the coming days with company representatives and retail chain managers, with the aim of reaching new agreements in direct talks.
She expressed her expectation that the expo will again result in a significant number of concrete and successful contracts, noting that a meeting with representatives of Xiamen Airlines is also planned.
I believe that these talks will result in a concrete agreement that will enable Serbian products to be featured on the flights of one of China’s largest airlines, whose fleet consists of 200 aircraft serving more than 400 destinations. In this way, travellers will have the opportunity to taste Serbian wine, brandy, cheeses and other domestic products, concluded Mesarović.
Alongside Prime Minister Macut, Serbia’s national pavilion was officially opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Mesarović, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamočić and Director of the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment Mihailo Jovanović.
