Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić emphasised today, during a meeting with the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, that cooperation between the two countries in the field of defence is very good, with the possibility of further improvement through the military-to-military and military-educational areas.

Gašić stated that Serbia is determined to contribute to strengthening its own, regional and global security, adding that the main security threat for our country is the process of secession of the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija.
He expressed gratitude for Greece’s principled stance regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, highlighting the importance of supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.
Gašić also said that Serbia appreciates the continuous long-term presence of members of the Greek Armed Forces in KFOR, taking into account the overall situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and above all the endangered security of the Serb population.
