Opening the 54th Education and Teaching Aids Fair, held under the slogan “Conquer the World with Knowledge”, Stanković highlighted the importance of the role of teachers in the education system, noting that they need to be satisfied and motivated.
He recalled that teachers' salaries have risen by 22% this year alone, adding that it is also necessary to continue improving curricula and working conditions, as well as modernising the teaching process.
Based on the new achievement standards for 33 subjects across all three educational cycles, adopted at the end of last year, new teaching and learning plans are being prepared for the first and fifth grades of primary school, as well as for the first grade of secondary school, he said.
Work is also underway to innovate and modernise several educational profiles in various fields – medicine, construction and architecture, Stanković said.
