Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijević discussed today with Ambassador of the European Union to Serbia Andreas von Beckerath the infrastructure projects financed or co-financed by the EU, particularly the projects for the modernisation of road and rail transport.

During the meeting, it was noted that intensive work on the modernisation of the Belgrade-Niš railway will continue, for which approximately €600 million in grants from EU funds has been provided.
Sofronijević emphasised that EU membership remains Serbia’s strategic goal, noting that the Government of Serbia is fully committed to the accelerated and consistent implementation of reforms that are part of the European agenda.
The interlocutors agreed that continued joint work and cooperation will contribute to deepening relations between Serbia and the EU and advancing the comprehensive partnership in areas of common interest.
