Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Snežana Paunović attended today the signing of an agreement between the Association of Ombudsmen of Serbia and the Swiss Embassy, which marked the official beginning of realisation of the project “Strengthening capacity of local ombudsmen in Serbiaˮ.

Paunović emphasised that the implementation of this project supports the state's efforts to make rights-protection mechanisms more accessible to citizens, enhance transparency and accountability in local government operations, and foster public awareness that institutions exist to serve the people.
The project aims to strengthen the capacity of ombudsmen through training, exchange of experiences and the establishment of uniform standards in work, so that the institution of the protector of citizens is closer to the people, present in every environment and recognized as a reliable partner in resolving problems.
