Dialogue only way to reach sustainable solution in Kosovo and Metohija

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić said this evening, during the talks with the President of the United Nations Security Council and Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vassily Nebenzya, that Serbia is firmly committed to preserving peace and stability, both in our southern province and in the entire region.

Speaking about the session of the Security Council that has just ended, Đurić pointed out that for our country, continuous consideration of the issue of Kosovo and Metohija in this body is essential for a detailed review of the situation and informing the international community about the political and security situation on the ground.

At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to the Russian Federation for its understanding and continued support in this matter.

The Minister reiterated that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is extremely unstable and sensitive, with numerous incidents, underlining Belgrade's clear and unchanging position on dialogue as the only way to achieve a sustainable solution in Kosovo and Metohija.

The head of Serbian diplomacy underlined that in order to continue the dialogue, it is necessary for Priština to fulfil its obligations from the Brussels Agreement, among which the priority is the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities.
