The two officials defined priorities for the coming period and particularly focused on the process of implementing the Reform Agenda, as one of the key instruments within the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, with the aim of strengthening institutional capacities and harmonising domestic legislation with European standards.
Glamočić expressed his gratitude for the support that the European Union provides to Serbia in the process of European integration, emphasising that the Ministry’s strategic goal is the full implementation of European policies in agriculture, food safety, and veterinary and phytosanitary areas.
Particular attention during the talks was devoted to the implementation of the IPARD III programme, which represents a powerful instrument of support for domestic agricultural producers and processors.
Von Beckerath said that agriculture is one of the most important sectors, both in Serbia and in the EU, noting that through the IPARD programme and other initiatives, joint efforts are being made to strengthen the Serbian agricultural sector, increase competitiveness and improve food safety standards.
The interlocutors agreed that there is great potential to further improve cooperation in the field of sustainable agriculture, particularly in the context of climate change and the green transition.
