At a meeting held on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Coordinating Bureau for the Non-Aligned Movement in Kampala, Đurić assessed that Serbia and Algeria are truly committed to developing mutual cooperation.
The head of Serbian diplomacy particularly emphasised that Serbia highly appreciates Algeria’s support for its positions on the most important national issues.
Đurić recalled that the visit of the Algerian Foreign Minister to Belgrade in 2023 gave a strong impetus to bilateral relations and confirmed the mutual commitment to further intensifying political dialogue and cooperation.
Serbia, as he pointed out, remains interested in further strengthening economic and political relations with Algeria and African countries as a whole, with which it is connected by long-standing friendship within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The Minister told his interlocutor that Serbia welcomes Algeria’s participation in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, with the belief that the country’s pavilion will be very well attended.
Attaf invited Đurić to visit Algeria in the coming period and thereby personally contribute to further strengthening political dialogue and improving overall cooperation between the two countries.
The head of Serbian diplomacy also spoke with Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Mohamed Ali Nafti.
He pointed out that Serbia highly appreciates Tunisia’s principled stance not to recognise the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, which he noted has confirmed this country’s commitment to the basic principles of international law and its strong friendship towards Serbia.
Serbia attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations with Tunisia, he stressed, adding that it is important to invest additional efforts in the coming period to intensify political dialogue.
