As part of his official visit to the country, Popović had meetings with the leadership of several ministries and institutions of Uzbekistan.
Serbia recognises numerous opportunities in Uzbekistan for advancing cooperation in various sectors such as agriculture, the food and processing industries, seed production, the textile industry, digitalisation, construction and mechanical engineering, innovation, new technologies and tourism, he said.
During the talks, special attention was devoted to enhancing bilateral economic cooperation between Serbian and Uzbek companies, supporting Serbian businesses in accessing the Uzbek market, as well as to mutual exchange of investments and technological knowledge. Significant potential was also recognised in cooperation with companies in the field of digital technologies and innovation.
This visit represents an important step towards strengthening political and economic dialogue between Serbia and Uzbekistan, as well as opening new opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
