A statement issued by the Serbian negotiating team after the meeting reads that Ahtisaari's latest statements "seriously bring into question Ahtisaari's position of the special envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the future status of Kosovo."
At the meeting it was agreed to take all necessary diplomatic and other steps to resolve the situation created by Ahtisaari's statements, without damaging the negotiating process.
The negotiating team discussed the current condition of negotiations on the future status of Kosovo-Metohija and its upcoming activities.
Preparations for the next round of talks on decentralisation, religious and cultural heritage and protection for communities were examined.
Agreement was reached at the meeting that the negotiating team should soon submit its regular report on the course of negotiations and upcoming activities of state organs and the negotiating team to the Serbian parliament.
The meeting which was presided over by the team's co-chairman and main negotiator, Serbian President Boris Tadic, was also attended by team's co-chairman and main negotiator, Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and main negotiator, Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Draskovic.
