The Confucius Institute in Belgrade, which also has a library, will serve as cultural and linguistic centre, especially for students of the Chinese language to learn more about China’s traditions and values.
Dulic-Markovic said that she is very pleased that China has recognised Serbia as a country that it should develop cultural cooperation with.
For us in Serbia, it is important to recall a Confucius thought: “Be sincere and true to your word, serious and careful in your actions”, said Dulic-Markovic adding that the benefit of the Confucius Institute in Belgrade will be that of Chinese language students, but also all Serbia’s citizens.
Chinese State Councillor Tang Jiaxuan said that the Institute will organise free language courses for Serbian journalists as well as for Chinese citizens living in Serbia who want to learn Serbian.
China has already announced that Serbia is an attractive tourist destination for our citizens, said Jiaxuan and added that China’s cooperation with Serbia is developing well and all this makes the opening of the Confucius Institute an even more pleasant event.
