Bomb attack against Kosovska Mitrovica citizens final wake-up call for international community to act

The Serbian government has stated that the latest terrorist attack in Kosovska Mitrovica shows how the Albanian terrorists understood the statement of UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Kosovo Marti Ahtisaari that “the Serbs as a nation” are to blame.
If the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy can say something like that, then every act of violence against Serbs is justified and rewarded, the statement reads.
Terror against Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija in the presence of the international community has been going on for seven years now.
Instead of counteracting to the Albanian separatist violence, the international community representatives turn a blind eye and sometimes even give spur to violence, like Marti Ahtisaari did with his statement.
The bomb attack against innocent citizens of Kosovska Mitrovica must be the final wake-up call for the international community to use decisive measures in accordance with its own documents and duties to preserve peace in this part of Europe.
It is high time that those who fail to accomplish entrusted duties give ground to UN representatives whose actions are principle based and who would protect the UN Charter and principles of international law with dignity, the statement said.
