Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Ivana Dulic-Markovic said today in talks with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Kinga Goncz that Hungary is a good example for Serbia as a neighbouring country and EU member, and intensified cooperation and exchange of experience between the two countries in all areas could assist Serbia in reaching European standards.
Dulic-Markovic and Goncz discussed bilateral economic cooperation, and opportunities for cooperation between Serbian and Hungarian experts in various fields. Dulic-Markovic stressed that constant advancement in knowledge is the basis for the successful continuation of all-inclusive reforms in Serbia.
The collocutors expressed satisfaction on the opening of the new, reconstructed border crossing Horgos, which has symbolic value as a gateway to Europe.
Goncz stressed that it is very important for Hungary to have a developed, economically advanced neighbour, and added that political stability in Serbia is important for the stability and advancement of the entire region.
She said that the EU is willing to continue negotiations with Serbia on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, but the condition for that is successful implementation of the Action Plan.
