Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today in New York with representatives of the American Jewish Committee.
Đurić expressed his satisfaction with the continuous contacts and cooperation with representatives of one of the most influential Jewish organisations in the United States and emphasised that each meeting is an opportunity to discuss new potential for cooperation.
The Minister pointed to the strong historical ties between the Serbian and Jewish people, which are connected by a common memory of suffering, and said that Serbia remains committed to the fight against anti-Semitism.
The interlocutors exchanged views on global challenges on the international stage and their consequences, and also touched on regional topics.
The Serbian Foreign Minister has invited members of this Jewish organisation to visit Serbia.
A joint appeal was once again made for the release of Serbian-Israeli citizen Alon Ohel, who is being held hostage in Gaza, as well as a call for all those kidnapped to be released so that they can return to their families.
