Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, with Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) Albert Ramdin.
Đurić emphasised that Serbia pays great attention to the activities of the OAS, where it has had observer status since 2002, and stated that Serbia strives to strengthen cooperation with the member states of this forum.
The head of Serbian diplomacy stated that the intensification of relations with countries from the Latin American and Caribbean region is of particular importance for Serbia.
He said that it is very significant that within the OAS there are a number of friendly countries with which Serbia shares common values, especially those that understand its position on preserving vital national interests.
The Minister pointed out that it would be an exceptional honour for Serbia to host Secretary General Ramdin during Specialised Expo 2027, and that it would be of great importance for as many OAS member countries as possible to participate in this event.
