The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management announced that Belgrade will host the 1st GF-TADs Regional Conference of Standing Groups of Experts on Priority Transboundary Animal Diseases in the European Region from 22 to 25 September.
The conference, organised by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the European Commission, with the support of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, brings together representatives of numerous countries, international organisations and experts in the field of veterinary and agricultural science.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Predrag Rojević emphasised that Serbia attaches special importance to the improvement of agriculture, as an extremely important branch for the development of its economy and all its sectors, including veterinary medicine.
During the four days of work, participants will discuss key challenges and experiences in the fight against infectious animal diseases, with special attention being paid to the exchange of knowledge, new technologies, as well as strengthening coordinated mechanisms for responding to transboundary animal diseases.
