Minister without portfolio in charge of gender equality, prevention of violence against women and economic and political empowerment of women Tatjana Macura addressed the United Nations in New York today on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Beijing Declaration.

Macura emphasised that women’s empowerment should not be understood as a means of deepening conflict, but as a bridge connecting cooperation and shared progress.
The Minister recalled that this month Serbia will host the first high-level political conference specifically on the topic of women’s empowerment – the Belgrade Women’s Conference RISE 2025, which will be a platform for ideas, but also the beginning of a broader national and international campaign for empowerment through partnership, solidarity and unity.
We believe that real progress comes from cooperation, not conflict. This is the spirit of mutual respect and connection that we want to build in Serbia and share with the world, said Macura.
She added that this message can be a guide to joint global efforts for equality and solidarity, because true leadership is not based on rivalry, but on unity.
