Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today with Brigadier General Matthew Woodruff, Commander of the Ohio National Guard, with whom the Serbian Armed Forces cooperate within the framework of the Serbia-Ohio State Partnership Program.
Đurić assessed that the partnership between Serbia and the US state of Ohio, which will mark two decades next year, is an exemplary partnership.
We are proud of the fact that the exceptional cooperation with Ohio, both in the military and civilian dimensions, has long gone beyond the framework of the State Partnership Program and has grown into a sincere friendship, standing out as a unique aspect of overall relations with the United States.
He said that in the future we would like to further intensify the dynamics of meetings and dialogue in various spheres, given that relations between Serbia and Ohio have, both qualitatively and quantitatively, enormous potential for further development in the interests of both sides.
Speaking about Kosovo and Metohija, the head of Serbian diplomacy emphasised the importance of the KFOR mission as one of the key factors in maintaining peace and security.
We appreciate the contribution of the US armed forces to the implementation of the mission's mandate, especially in protecting Serbs in the extremely challenging and difficult circumstances they face due to the repressive actions of the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Priština, as well as in preserving the Serbian cultural and religious heritage in the province, he stated.
