In a televised appearance on Television Pink, Mali recalled that the People's Republic of China is the country with the fastest growing economy in the world, and that the adoption of a Free Trade Agreement with that country started last year, which fully opened the doors of the large Chinese market to domestic manufacturers.
He noted that there are three direct airlines between Serbia and China, that Chinese companies in our country employ more than 40,000 people, and that the volume of trade has exceeded €7 billion.
Serbia today has better relations than ever with the world's largest economy - a country that is a leader in the field of artificial intelligence, information technology and the development of numerous other industries, Mali emphasised.
The First Deputy Prime Minister also referred to new economic measures, which, as he said, are the result of serious and responsible analyses.
He stated that all retail chains that have so far had a margin of more than 20 percent are obliged to reduce it below that level, and now Serbian citizens will save between 10 and 20 percent on average on each purchase, depending on the items they buy.
In parallel, as he added, the minimum wage, pensions, and salaries are increasing, which, as he pointed out, creates a double effect.
Namely, pensions for the oldest citizens will be increased by 12 percent as of 1 December, which is far above the inflation rate, Mali underlined and added that this is the third year in a row in which pensions have recorded double-digit growth.
The First Deputy Prime Minister recalled that as of 1 October, there will be an extraordinary increase in the minimum wage - from the current €457 to €500, while as of 1 January, it will be increased by another 10.4 percent and will amount to €550.
In this way, we are fulfilling the goal we defined and the promise we made to citizens that by the end of 2027, the minimum wage will amount to at least €650, he said and emphasised that the minimum price of labour is very important because it directly affects the growth of the average wage.
According to data available, the average salary in June was €920, and by December this year it is expected to exceed €1,000, Mali said, expressing hope that it will reach €1,400 in 2027.
