Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski discussed today with Head of the World Bank Office to Serbia Nicola Pontara the successful cooperation so far, as well as future plans and projects.
Đurđević Stamenkovski emphasised that the World Bank's previous logistical and expert support in terms of improving the social security system, especially when it comes to the drafting of the Law on the Social Card and the implementation of the Social Card register, is very important for our country.
The Ministry is actively working on strengthening the Social Card register, and the World Bank's support in the training of professional staff in social work centres, with the aim of better implementing that system, would be of great importance to us, the Minister emphasised.
Pontara highlighted the readiness to continue cooperation in order to improve the living standards of Serbian citizens and reduce the poverty rate in the country.
