Speaking with Head of the Economic Policy Office at the UNMIK Andreas Wittkowsky and deputy director for socially owned and public companies Ahmet Shala, Popovic pointed out that standing dialogue between these groups would have influence on bringing concrete decisions aiming to improve the economic situation in Kosovo-Metohija, and through that improve living standards for all citizens.
According to Popovic, members of the six working groups in the areas of energy, transport, telecommunications, agriculture, banking and financial system would meet once a week and resolve concrete economic problems through direct dialogue.
He said that it is necessary to establish a moratorium on further privatisation as soon as possible, until the future status of the province is determined, which would be the most just solution in the economic and legal context, because it is certain that after the status is settled the investment climate in Kosovo-Metohija will be much different.
