Dulic-Markovic stressed that today’s decision on accepting a new, technically amended mandate also confirms that the doors of the EU are open to Serbia.
She pointed out that the European Commission, which proposed the amended mandate to the Council, is ready to continue negotiations with Serbia the very moment when Serbia fulfills its obligation and realises full cooperation with the Hague tribunal.
According to Dulic-Markovic, when negotiations are resumed, there will be only one more technical round regarding issues of judiciary, interior affairs and final agreement on the lists of industrial and agricultural products.
The Serbian Deputy Prime Minister said that there is only one more official round left, intended for harmonisation of text and initialing the agreement, so that negotiations are concluded and the aim is achieved, which is signing of the SAA and its implementation from January 1, 2007.
