Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić sent a telegram of condolences today to the Ministry of Defence of Ghana on the tragic death of the Minister of Defence and other officials of that country in a helicopter crash.
"It is with great disbelief and sadness that I received the news of the tragic accident in which my esteemed colleague, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Ghana, Edward Omane Boamah, the crew of the military helicopter and other senior officials of our friendly country lost their lives.
On behalf of the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and on my own behalf, I extend my sincere condolences and deep sympathy. The loss of state officials and members of the armed forces is irreparable not only for the Ministry of Defence and the Government of the Republic of Ghana, but also for all of us who appreciate the dedication and contribution to the development and progress of our friendly country and the strengthening of our relations.
We ask you to convey our sincere condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to all members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Ghana," Gašić said.
