Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić discussed today with a delegation of deputies of the National Assembly of the French Republic the most important topics in the field of bilateral relations and regional cooperation, as well as the worrying situation of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

Đurić emphasised that France is Serbia’s strategic partner and one of the key pillars of support among the major countries of the European continent, which is why it is in our national interest to continue to improve bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
Speaking about the importance of parliamentary cooperation as a key segment of bilateral relations in recent years, he emphasised that our country highly appreciates the active engagement of French MPs in the process of normalising relations between Belgrade and Pristina, as well as their understanding of the importance of preserving Serbian cultural, religious and historical heritage in Kosovo and Metohija.
It is alarming that, in the last two and a half years alone, 20% of the Serbian population has left the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, which is a direct consequence of the continuation of unilateral actions, constant provocations, unprecedented pressures and systematic persecution of the Serbian people orchestrated by the Albin Kurti regime, Đurić explained.
The Minister pointed to Belgrade’s constructiveness and transparency in its approach to the talks being held in Brussels under the auspices of the European Union, adding that the urgent establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities and the protection of the fundamental human rights of Serbs in our southern province are necessary.
