On this occasion, Macura emphasised that in recent years Serbia and the United States have been working dedicatedly and devotedly to establishing strong political and economic ties.
The period of the 1990s, marked by distrust and tensions, is behind us, and partnership relations, with the memory of mutual support during the two world wars, are today on an upward trajectory and should continue in the future, she stated.
The Minister added that practical realism, as stated in his address by Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Belgrade Alexander Titolo, is the thread that unites Serbia and the United States in times of global challenges, fragile peace and ubiquitous tensions in which we are contemporaries.
Macura congratulated the US citizens on their day with the wish that we all celebrate the 250th anniversary together in peace, striving for problems to be resolved through dialogue.
