Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić met with Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Carolina Hidea today to discuss joint projects in the areas of strengthening judicial independence, combating corruption, improving human rights and harmonising legislation with European standards.

Vujić presented the planned amendments to the legislative framework in accordance with the Revised Action Plan for Chapter 23 and the Judicial Development Strategy for the period 2020-2025, as well as with the Reform Agenda accompanying the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
The interlocutors assessed the cooperation to date as very successful, particularly in the field of establishing a system of support for victims and witnesses of criminal offences in Serbia, as well as in amending criminal legislation.
They emphasised that continued reforms and full implementation of European standards are key to strengthening citizens’ trust in the judiciary, and expressed readiness to further develop cooperation between the two institutions.
