After the meeting with Greek President Konstantinos Tassoulas, Prime Minister Macut emphasised that the visit to Athens is in the spirit of the centuries-old tradition of friendship between the two countries and the Serbian and Greek peoples.
The Prime Minister of Serbia said the deep historical, cultural and religious ties between the two Orthodox peoples and expressed regret over the tragedy that occurred yesterday in the Greek Orthodox Church in Damascus, Syria.
Prime Minister Macut stated that Serbia sees relations with Greece as a strategic partnership, emphasising the mutual commitment to cooperation in energy, infrastructure projects and other areas of common interest, with a special focus on investments and the promotion of joint projects.
The Prime Minister thanked Greece for its principled support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia and emphasized that Serbia remains fully consistent in respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Greece, on land, at sea and in the air, which includes all islands.
Greek President Konstantinos Thassulas emphasised that the visit of Serbian Prime Minister Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, provides Greece with an opportunity to deepen the exceptional ties of friendship and solidarity and emphasized that Greece provides full support to Serbia’s European path.
