Speaking at the plenary session of the heads of delegations, which was held on the topic of "Fostering stability and prosperity through regional cooperation and EU integration", Macut emphasised that these goals are achievable only with dialogue, mutual respect, appreciation and a civilised approach to resolving all potential problems.
As a responsible and predictable partner, Serbia is determined to resolve all open issues through dialogue, in good faith and in accordance with the principles of international law, the Prime Minister underlined.
He added that EU membership is a strategic commitment and a priority of Serbia's foreign policy, while at the same time preserving traditional friendships with Russia, China, the United States and countries in Africa and the Middle East, as well as continuing the policy of military neutrality.
Macut expressed satisfaction with the fact that the European Commission, in its 2024 Progress Report on Serbia, objectively assessed the results achieved in the reform process to date, adding that he expects EU member states to support the opening of Cluster 3.
The Prime Minister underlined that Serbia is committed to improving regional cooperation, which directly contributes to building mutual trust, the reconciliation process and encourages overall development on our path towards full EU membership.
He added that Serbia fully supports the further intensification of regional cooperation as an essential basis for the stability of the region.
The Prime Minister also stressed that our country is sincerely committed to the dialogue with Priština, which has shown extreme unconstructiveness and unwillingness to accept and hear the other side in the dialogue since the very beginning of the dialogue, while constantly producing and provoking incidents that keep the population of Kosovo and Metohija in constant fear for their own safety.
Considering the extremely difficult position of the Serbian community and the fact that Priština still refuses to fulfil its obligations under the Brussels Agreement, we hope that the engagement of the newly appointed EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Priština dialogue will also be focused on acting towards Priština in order to fulfil the obligations agreed on, Macut concluded.
