Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met in Cairo with President of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Razeq to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
The two officials agreed that the cooperation is based on decades-long friendship and understanding, and that there is potential for it to be enhanced, particularly in the fields of economy, business, trade and tourism.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and Egypt represents a significant incentive for deepening cooperation.
Macut expressed his gratitude to Abdel-Razeq for Egypt’s confirmed participation in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, which is expected to attract 2.5 million visitors from around the world.
The Prime Minister also thanked the President of the Egyptian Senate for the country’s stance on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and its support for preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, stressing that Serbia deeply appreciates this.
According to him, Serbia remains committed to peace, respect for international law and dialogue as a means of resolving all outstanding issues.
