Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, stated in Cairo today that the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and Egypt is a new chapter in bilateral relations.
At the Serbia-Egypt Business Forum, Macut emphasised that the agreement allows for the maximum use of the comparative advantages of both countries, which opens up space for a multifold increase in trade exchange, investments, encouraging cooperation in numerous areas and creating better conditions for increasing the competitiveness and prosperity of the two economies, for the benefit of all citizens.
He expressed his belief that this visit and the third business forum between the two countries will further enhance business cooperation, especially in the sectors of agriculture, food industry, construction, textiles and energy.
In these challenging times, when countries are increasingly facing growing tariffs and other trade barriers on a global level, Serbia and Egypt are jointly opening the door to a freer flow of goods, services and capital, the Prime Minister emphasised.
Macut stated that foreign trade between Egypt and Serbia is growing year by year, but that there is still room for increasing its volume, as indicated by the potential of the two countries.
