At a ceremony of presentation of the decisions at the Palace of Serbia, Macut stated that they are a symbolic pledge of the clear strategic commitment of the Government of Serbia to rely to a greater extent on the most valuable resource we have, which is our, Serbian, domestic intelligence, through the empowerment of the most talented young entrepreneurs and the further development of our country's economy.
He underlined that the RSD 18 million in non-repayable funds, which the state of Serbia is investing in innovative ideas and the youthful enthusiasm of its citizens, will serve as a catalyst for the development of the young winners' businesses.
The Prime Minister also stated that with this programme, as well as many other measures, the Government of Serbia is proactively approaching the most important strategic task of any serious and responsible policy - to create better living and working conditions in the present, and to lay solid and stable foundations for our national future, which will be shaped precisely by the ideas of citizens and business innovations.
New jobs in your local communities and new business opportunities for your fellow citizens, which will be created by your selected business ideas supported by the state, are a concrete and tangible confirmation of your patriotism and concern for the development of your country and the progress of our society, as well as the long-term vision of the policy that this government is responsibly and decisively implementing, said Macut.
Mesarović emphasised that the finalists of the programme received non-refundable funds in the amount of RSD 500,000 to turn their innovative ideas into reality and start their own business.
She also stated that one of the priorities of the Government of Serbia is systemic support for young people, which is not only material, but also institutional, moral and mentoring.
The Minister underlined that 151 applicants applied for this programme from as many as 14 districts of Serbia and added that these ideas have the potential to contribute to our community and sustainable development.
Ivana Marčeta from Bačka Topola, who received funding for her business idea of the processing and canning of turkey meat only, expressed her gratitude for the financial support, stating that it will mean a lot to her in her future work.
